Where Are They Now?

What happens to our dancers once they leave the nest? Here’s a few examples:

Anna Anderson

  • Freshman, Appalachian State University
  • Majoring in Nursing
  • Moved to NC in 2005 after 11 years of dancing at GGSOD. Tried one dance school here, but decided it wasn’t even CLOSE to being a part of GGSOD.
  • Started a preschool dance program at the preschool her Mom started in NC, and “Miss Anna” has been introducing three and four year olds to dance for the past three years. Third and final recital was in May – passing the torch on to lil sister Emmy, who danced with GGSOD for seven years.

Mary Ruth McCallum

  • Married and moved to Alaska
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology from East Carolina University. Working on Nursing next…
  • Just got out of the Navy, was a Naval Officer… went to OCS where flexibility from dance was actually a BIG help in several of the crazy things they make you do there!!!
  • Kids: none yet, unless you count my dog :-)
  • Dance: still dance around in my garage!!!

Are you a graduate of the Gretchen Greene School of Dance?

Drop us a line and let us know what you’re up to. We’d love to hear from you!

“Dear Ms. Greene
We attended your recent recital. We were the proud grandparents sitting in the fourth row/center. We just wanted to let you know that we enjoyed the event very much. However, we were most moved and impressed with your willingness and efforts to include special needs children. To us, this exemplifies you as an exceptional person; one who accepts major challenges with placing others in situations so they may have what might be the only chance in life at a few minutes of 'normal shine time.'”
